CONSTITUTION AND RULES

  1. TITLE

The association shall be known as the United Kingdom Vessel Traffic Service Association.

 

  1. MEMBERSHIP

(a)     Member

      Full membership of the association is open to those who are employed 

      at a UK VTS centre and hold a valid V103 certificate.

 

(b)     Associate Member

      A non-voting category of membership for any person who does not

      qualify for full or companion membership and are employed at a 

      UK VTS or port information centre.

 

(c)     Companion

A non-voting category of membership for any person, such as a college lecturer, harbourmaster, deputy harbourmaster or pilot, who are not qualified to be a member or associate.

 

(d)     Fellow

To be elected a Fellow the candidate must have been a member for at least five years continuously and in the opinion of the committee, demonstrated exceptional service to VTS.

This is a non-voting category.

 

(e)     Retired

For those qualified members who are no longer on active service in VTS.

They retain full voting rights.

 

(f)       Corporate

A non-voting category for those companies/ports who are associated with VTS and make a contribution to the association.

 

  1. MANAGEMENT

(a)     The management of the association shall be vested in a committee consisting of :-

 

(1)    Chairman and Vice-Chairman to be elected annually

 

             (2)  Treasurer and Secretary to be elected annually.

 

  1. MEETINGS

The committee to meet at least once a year.

  

  1. FINANCE

(a)     Treasurer will present details of expenditure to the committee at each

        meeting and annually present a report and accounts, duly audited.

 

(b)      All cheques shall be signed by any two of the following :

        Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer.

 In the case of an emergency, however, the committee, at a duly

 convened meeting, may make such temporary arrangements

 as may be necessary.

 

  1. SUBSCRIPTIONS

            Annual subscriptions shall be set by the committee and

            reviewed periodically.
